What can you do?
Some environmental stressors can be changed while others cannot. What is
important is that you learn to do the following:
Recognise the causes of stress in your life and their effect on you.
Identify which stressors can be changed, and the ability to manage
the ones you cannot change.
Negative stress is the sensation that you have lost control over your life; it’s a
feeling of anxiety, tension and depression. You might feel that you’re under
too much pressure, that you can no longer cope with life’s problems.
The stress factors mentioned above do not call for physical flight or fight
responses, and yet our bodies still generate excess energy – which is not
used. And this is the source of the problem.
