broken. Make it a habit, never break it, and start now. You’ll find that you will
immediately become a more organised and efficient person!

                   3. THE IMPORTANCE OF PRIORITISING

                       • What has been done?

                       • What still needs to be done?

                       • What must be done that is compulsory?

                       • What is optional?

Have you heard of the ‘Jam Jar’ theory?

The jam jar theory is all about managing our priorities and it is

quite a clever way to illustrate how we manage to fit everything
that we do into one day!

Imagine a large empty jam jar that is large enough to fit in three or
                   four large rocks.

                   Is it full?

Now imagine dropping in a few small pebbles that fit neatly in between the

                   rocks.

                   Is it full?

If you then filled up the jar with some loose gravel, would it be full?

Now add a handful of sand to your jar. Is it full now?

What about some water filled to the brim?

You are right. It is now full.

The jam jar theory is all about balance. We all have the big priorities in our

lives that are like the rocks. Smaller activities and priorities also clutter up our
